On November 28, 1851 various officers garrisoned in Santiago received promotions.  On December 7th, a Gaceta de Gobierno de Santo Domingo was published and in it, officers were named with their previous and new ranks from the regiments of infantry, artillery, and police.

On the 28th and 29th of November, two Teniente Coroneles retired: Remigio Daniel and Santiago Bonilla.

On the 29th of November, Siriaco Novoa was allowed to retire from his post in Azua.
